My name is William J. Kelly and this day and every day forward, we have just one mission: To return Illinois government and government in general back to the people.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

IT MEANS: WE NEED TO DEMAND A FULL TOP TO BOTTOM INDEPENDENT AUDIT OF ILLINOIS GOVERNMENT.

Auditors – free of conflicts of interest and political connections – need to be brought on to review the past three years or more of budgeting, who received what contract and why, their qualifications, and the appearance of any improprieties or outside influences. This information needs to be available now to all interested media outlets.

IT MEANS: WE NEED TO JOIN WITH GOVERNMENT WATCHDOGS TO REVIEW STATE FINANCIALS AND IDENTIFY WASTE AND FRAUDULENT PRACTICES.

Imagine a state government where taxpayer advocates and anti-waste organizations like the National Taxpayers Union of Illinois, the Illinois Policy Institute, Citizens Against Government Waste, the Better Government Association, the Heartland Institute, the CATO Institute and many others have a true voice in making state government work for the people. The people will be fully informed about where and to whom their taxpayer money is going to and why.

IT MEANS: FULL DISCLOSURE AND PUBLIC DEBATE ON ILLINOIS’ CORRUPT PUBLIC PROCUREMENT PROCESS.

In Illinois, elites and political backroom deals have eliminated competition for State of Illinois business. We have to take this process out of the hands of those – the insiders and elites - that maintain the secrecy of these corrupt practices. We need to put a full public spotlight on corrupt procurement practices and end the system once and for all.

IT MEANS: FULL TRANSPARENCY. WE NEED TO LOBBY FOR IT EVERY DAY AND NEVER STOP.

We need and deserve a full accounting - salaries of all State employees and individual consultants, state expenditures, state tax credits, and revocations and suspensions of occupation and use tax certificates of registration and professional licenses.

IT MEANS: LESS GOVERNMENT, MORE INCENTIVES FOR BUSINESSES TO RETURN TO ILLINOIS.

Most of the elites in state government have never had a business, never balanced a budget, and never had to meet a payroll. All they know how to do is spend taxpayer money on programs that don’t work. But Illinoisans want and need jobs. With the right top to bottom leadership -from the Governor’s and Comptroller’s offices to State Representatives from every part of Illinois - we can create an environment where businesses relocate to Illinois, where small businesses and entrepreneurs find an “economic safe haven” for their growing businesses, and where Illinoisans go back to work with more money in their pockets for their families and futures.

IT MEANS: THAT WE CANNOT GO BACK TO ELECTING AND RE-ELECTING THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE POWERFUL.

Nepotism and political favors for the privileged have destroyed the state of Illinois. The people of Illinois need to elect outsiders – not the same political insiders favored by media organizations. In perhaps all ways, the media – newspapers, radio and TV - have failed Illinoisans by not reporting on the corruption and the cronyism in Illinois government. Recently, it is only through the actions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office that we see widespread corrupt practices coming to light. These political elites do not deserve a second or third or fourth chance at our taxpayer dollars. It is up to the people to now decide to whom they should put their trust.

IT MEANS: THAT THE TIME IS NOW…TO REFORM, REBUILD, AND REDEEM THE STATE OF ILLINOIS IN THE EYES OF ITS CITIZENS AND THE REST OF THE COUNTRY.
