Dear Fellow Chicagoan,
If you are like me, you work hard all day to support your family. When things get tough, you have to sacrifice. You have to balance your checkbook. But our governments – city, county, state, and federal – don’t.
How can that be? You must have wondered.
Across Cook County, local government budget debt stands at $108 billion dollars. In real world terms, that translates into $63,525 for every Chicago household and $33,000 for every suburban household. To add insult to injury, it isn’t the average guy who gets the breaks. It isn’t the police officers or the Chicago firefighters. It isn’t the Sunday school teachers, the construction workers, the nurses who work long hours at the hospitals, or the working moms.
It’s the special interests, the cronies, and hack politicians with their pay-to-play schemes, no-bid backroom deal contracts, and insider elite games of the haves and the have-nots.
The people of the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois deserve better. It’s time to fight back. And the first step to fighting back is speaking out.
That’s why I’m running for Chairman of the Chicago Republican party and Republican committeeman of the 42nd ward.
Why? Because we need a real Republican party in Chicago. A party willing to take on the establishment and offer a clear choice against corruption. A clear choice for truth and honesty.
We need a real two-party city. Not a one-party city by default. We need a united Chicago Republican party that actually recruits and slates good candidates. Not a party that casually accepts defeat over and over and over again.
In order to accomplish this, the new Chairman of the Chicago Republican party needs to be a proven fighter and leader. The new committeeman of the 42nd ward needs to unite Republicans and cultivate a new generation of leaders, organizers, and advocates. The new Chicago Republican party needs someone who will ensure that every Republican voice gets heard and that no one is silenced or left behind.
As your new Chairman and committeeman, I will, from Day One, make sure that everyone has a chance to be heard. I will make sure that we slate candidates, recruit a new generation of leaders, and put an end to the infighting. From Day One, I will be inclusive of all people. I will have regular meetings and offer complete transparency in my duties as Chairman of the Chicago GOP. From Day One, I will work to increase the Republican vote total and the power of the City of Chicago and the 42nd ward. I will be accountable to you.
As a lifelong Chicagoan, I know Chicago. As a homeowner and business owner, I know the problems of a City of Chicago resident because I have lived and studied them.
I will bring all the time, energy, and attention that I have to bear on these problems. Because I love Chicago and I want to live there for the rest of my life. And I want you to feel that you want to live here for the rest of your life as well.
